Let's Scrap

Just a quick post to share this weeks sketch from Let's Scrap. These pics were in a Christmas mini I did, but I had not actually ever scrapped. I love the big pic of B, looking so little, surrounded by all his gifts. This was from Christmas 2006, Things were much simpler then....

Here is my LO:

Based on this Sketch:

Another 2 pager for me. Crazy, I know. Working on lots of other stuff. Will share more soon!

A bit more Christmas Spirit

Yay! It's Wednesday. Time for the newest sketch at Let’s Scrap. I chose the 2 page version this time around. This one definately put me in the Christmas spirit. I combined the newest Christmas lines from Pink Paislee and My Mind's Eye. They just blended together so well. I did this LO about some of my favorite tree decore. I have so many favorite Christmas ornaments from over the years, but for this LO, I chose to showcase a few of the more recent faves. Here is my layout:

Based on this sketch:

So come play along. There is a great prize from Precocious Paper up for grabs.

I also wanted to share something fun. I spent a majority of the day Sunday making cookies. Steve was in Boston on Monday visiting a relative in the hospital. While he was there, he also stopped by to deliver some cookies to our friend Kevin (aka Supah Fan). Kevin loved it and took this pic in his store and posted on Facebook how happy he was. I love it! It is all about spreading Christmas cheer:

Feed the World...Let them know it's Christmas time!

One more week...?

Hey friends! Can You believe it is only one week till Christmas? Crazy I know, but I love it! In between all the craziness I am still scrappin! Thought I would share a couple more LO's. Here is the latest for B's school photo's album. I had lots of fun with Pink Paislee's Old School line:

I also played along with a sketch challenge over at the My Minds Eye blog:

I used some very old MME papers that I have been hoarding in my stash. Here is my take on it:

Today I will be putting the finishing touches on my LO for this weeks upcoming sketch at Let's Scrap. It's a good-y! Also need to bake some cookies and get some cleaning done. I thought Sunday was suppose to be a day of rest! Ay yay yay!
Happy Scrappin'!

Scrappy Happy

Today is Wednesday. Time for the newest Let’s Scrap sketch. Every third Wednesday it is a card sketch. I really, really wanted to make a Christmas card, but I just kept being pulled towards flowers (Plus I love these MME papers from my stash!). Maybe I am already looking forward to Spring...and it isn't even really Winter yet. ...lol!

Here is my card:

Based on this week's sketch:

I may not be feeling Winter, but I am definately feeling the Christmas spirit. I love Christmas. I have been pulling out some pics from past years. Like this 'Cool Santa' one I took of Bryant last year. I have taken some of the greatest pics of him over the years. I had the best time creating this LO with some of my favorite Pink Paislee papers and letters from my stash, too. I have seen many grid type LO's over the years and wanted to try one myself. It was perfect for this one:

Another thing keeping me in the spirit are these:
I was blessed to be included in this 'White Christmas' tag swap with some amazingly talented ladies. I have these beauties proudly displayed in my office for all to see. Makes me smile!
It is definately beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Don't forget those less fortunate than you. Salvation Army. Toys for Tots. Your local Food bank. Every little bit helps. No Matter how small.
Happy Scrappin'!!

Make a Wish

It is Wednesday. Time to share the newest sketch over at Let’s Scrap. This sketch was so much fun to work with. I love this simple pic of Bryant , that I took over the Summer. I changed it over to sepia and it worked perfect with these patchwork papers. Yes, I used pink on a boy page, It worked for this one and I loved the result. I dug way into my stash for this. These papers are from one of my Scarlet Lime kits from way back. I love the uniqueness of their kits. Always so colorful and always so many fun extras.

Here is my LO:

Based on this sketch:

You can check out the 2 page version Here. I love that you have the option to do a one or two page version. This week there is a great prize from Paper Wishes.

So what are you waiting for?

Come play along.

Christmas Spirit

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing the play 'A Christmas Carol' at the Northshore Music Theatre in Beverly, MA. It was amazing. There is nothing like seeing such a great show, to give you that feeling of true Chistmas spirit. Sometimes we get so caught up in the everyday hustle and bustle, that we just need to take a moment and truly enjoy this time of year. I love Christmas, but I too admit I get a bit caught up in the commercial-ism of it. There are a few simple things during the season that really make me happy. Seeing the red kettles of the Salvation Army and donating whatever I can. Sometimes it is not much, but every little bit helps. I also like to give to Toys for Tots. Every kid deserves a visit from Santa. I know not everyone is religious, but I, myself, love the feeling of being in church. Something really special about this time of year. I like to bake and decorate cookies with my son. To get together with Friends & Famly. All very simple (inexpensive) things...and they all make me so HAPPY!

Another thing that makes me happy...scrapping of course! I wanted to share a couple of LO's I did recently of Bryant at Christmas. Both photo's were from a couple years ago. Rudolph went with him everywhere. It was the cutest thing!

Here is B with Santa. This LO came together in a flash, using Teresa Collins Noel line papers:

I loved this pic of B on Christmas eve. Sound asleep with Rudolph watching over him. I had the best time creating this LO with many Pink Paislee lines (Amber Road, Spring Fling, Old School and a bit of ribbon from Tinsel Town). It all came together for "Sweet Christmas Dreams":

So the Christmas season begins. Remember to take some time for yourself. Enjoy the simple moments.
Merry Christmas!

December Has Arrived!

Today is Wednesday, and that means a new sketch goes up at Let’s Scrap. Remember you always have the option to do the one page or two page LO. This time around I chose to do the single page option. Just a couple pics of me along with some gorgeous papers from Teresa Collins Noel line. Yes, it is her Christmas line and this is not a Christmas LO. I just loved the rich colors and thought that they went perfectly with the pics I was using. A long time ago, a friend of mine reminded me to get in front of the camera once in a while. Document yourself in the moment. I have been trying to, more and more. Plus, it does help that I just got my hair done that day and I was going out that night...lol! But, the title does ring true. I am a happy soul:

Here is the sketch that it was based on:

You can check out the 2 pager here. There is a fabulous RAK from Pretty Little Studio.

It is now December...and do you know what that means? Day one of the December Daily:

and....Pink Paislee's Twelve Days of Christmas begins!!!

I love December!

I love Christmas!

I love Scrappin'!

Toil & Trouble

Soon Fall will be coming to an end. As one of my favorite seasons, I will be sad to see it go. Winter will be here soon enough and so will....Christmas. Before that happens, I wanted to share one last Fall-ish LO. I actually did this one a while ago, I used the awesome "Toil and Trouble" line by the Girls' Paperie. I liked this line right away. It was the first Halloween line I have seen that does not have purple in it. Don't get me wrong, I like purple, but not on my Halloween LO's. I also used some goodies from my stash for accent (the Jenni Bowlin bingo card & the Elsie chipboard frame). I even sewed on the page. I thought all together, it looked pretty cool:

I have been really busy creating with the awesome sketches from Let's Scrap. There are so many great ones coming up...
Stay tuned!

It's Wednesday. Time for a new sketch over at Let’s Scrap. This is one of my faves, so far. You just do not know how happy I am, to be finally sharing this LO. I loved these pictures I took of Steve and his grandson Jacob this past Summer. They have so much fun together. You can just see it on their faces. Pure happiness. Pure joy.

Here is the sketch for this week that it is based on:

The sketch, the pics and Teresa Collins Chic Bebe Boy papers were perfect for this 2 page LO. So over this long weekend, make a little time for yourself and scrap. Need a little mojo, check out here and here for some great sketches. Play along with us over at Let’s Scrap. Get some scrapping done and maybe even win some prizes...

TCD

I decided a few weeks ago, to "throw my hat in the ring" so to say, and try out for Teresa Collins new design team. I love Teresa and all things Teresa. I always have. I was excited when I was chosen as one of the finalists. Lots of well wishes from my very supportive friends made me smile.

The final decision for the team came out this afternoon. I was not chosen. I will admit that I am a bit bummed out, but I know not everyone can be chosen. It definately has not detered me from trying again and I continue to be creatively obsessed...ha!

I do want to share the projects that I submitted. I have to say, that they are some of my favorites that I have done recently. I seem to always favor what I am working on at the
moment. I had the idea for this LO before I even knew about DT tryouts. I recieved a few of the papers from Teresa's Celebration line in my September Scarlet Lime kit and I loved them immediately! I sketched out the LO that eventually became this:

Every year we take a trip to Brookdale Farm in Hollis, NH to pick apples, get our pumpkin and get a pic with the 'Big Scary Scarecrow'. Teresa's 'Family Matters' line was perfect for our Fall family pic:

Last, but not least, was this album that I put together for a co-worker friend that recently got married, using the 'Mr. and Mrs. line. She and her hubby love it and this makes me so happy. That is what it is all about!

I wanted to share something that really made my day today. Coming home to some surprise 'happy mail' from my sweet friend Jonnelle. Lots of pretty Fall goodness. Thanks sweetie! You're the best!
As always lots of fun sketches coming up at Let’s Scrap. I also finished some 'White Christmas' tags for a tag swap I am participating in. I will share soon!
Happy Scrappin'!

Let's (Make Time to) Scrap!

Wednesday is the day that the newest sketch goes 'live' over at Let’s Scrap. The third Wednesday of every month is a card sketch. It can also be used for a LO or other crafty project. I decided to create this wall hanging:

Based on this sweet sketch:

I really enjoyed 'quilting' with some beautiful Jenni Bowlin papers that I had in my stash. What a fun, quick, easy project!
Come play along with us. There is an awesome RAK provided by Studio Calico. The complete Documentary line! Awesome right?! You know I love Studio Calico. Those gals are the best!
So what are you waiting for?

Challenge #76

I am really enjoying being part of the Let’s Scrap community. The combination of scrapping, sketches and new friends makes me so happy. Three of my favorite things. They also offer up a scrappy challenge each week, which is another thing I enjoy. Here is my LO for this weeks (#76) challenge:

I have been waiting to scrap this pic of Bryant with his half brother's new baby boy for a while now. It is just such a precious moment and I wanted the LO to be perfect. Here is the sketch I based it on:

Kristen's challenge (#76) was to use at least 3 of these colors (along with black, white or kraft):

That came from this photo :

I used very muted versons of the colors and I love how the LO came out. Sometimes things just click. you know. I literally threw this LO together in less than hour last night. that rarely ever happens! So, if you are looking for some ideas, go check out Let's Scrap. The sketches and challenges are so much fun. Think of all the scrapping that you could get done, plus you might win a prize, just for playing along. Who doesn't love that?

Happy Scrappin!!

It's Wednesday...Let's Scrap!

It is Wednesday, and you know what that means? A brand new sketch is up at Let’s Scrap . The cool thing about the sketches there, is that you can create with the two page version of the sketch:

Or you can do a one page version:

I chose the one page version this time:

I had these cute pics of Bryant, from when we went apple picking a couple months ago. He wanted to make sure that he had the perfect apples for both of his teachers at school. I think he did did a pretty good job, don't you? And...I have also had this KI apple lace paper forever! It was perfect for this project (along with a bit of bling, of course!) If you like sketches, have lots of pics and lots of goodies in your stash (like me!), then this is for you!
Come play along with us. There is a great RAK up for grabs!
So what are you waiting for?

December Daily 2010

It was not too long ago, that I was gathering up all this goodness. Teresa Collins 'Noel' beautiful line of papers and ribbons, along with some pretty rose ribbon and red pearl bling. All this...

..bound together with Teresa's 'Mr. & Mrs.' Flocked Covers, to create my 2010 December Daily:

I love this yearly project inspired by Ali Edwards. It may take a little work, but I love to look back on the memories of years past. This is actually the first time, that I have had it 'ready to go' this early. I am so happy about that. I love Christmas and I am sooooo looking forward to creating yet another treasured keepsake.

Happy Halloween

Though for the last 2 years Bryant has chosen to not trick or treat, we still like to enjoy the Halloween festivities. One of our favorites is carving our pumpkins. Here are the 2 we chose at the farmstand a couple of weeks back.

We have been wanting to carve them for last couple weeks, but simply have had no time. It really was a beautiful day.

The worst is cleaning out the guts. Ewwww...

But, it is worth it,when the end result looks this cute.
Yes, we like the basic, simple pumpkin faces.

They look so cool in the dark...ooooooooo....

I hope you all enjoy Halloween with your families, no matter how you spend it! We shall be watching the Nascar race at Talladega (Go Tony!) and the Patriots/Vikings (Go Pats!!) It's all good! Maybe I shall get in a bit of scrappin' too...
Happy Halloween!
Happy Scrappin'!!

Weekend Full of Goodness

Remember this? A few weeks ago, I was asked to by my friend Jonnelle to join in a Halloween tag swap. So glad I did, because this littlle box of happy mail arrived at my house on Friday. The beautiful and extremely creative tags from all the other ladies, along with some extra goodness from our hostess:

Here is a better look at the tags I recieved:

So creative:

and totally amazing:

I loved them all! All very different and all so festive! Looking forward to our next swap...Winter Wonderland.

Speaking of festive, Bryant and I had a nice lunch date on Saturday and then did a bit of shopping. We could not help but play with some of the fun Halloween items we found. Love this pic of B in the witches hat!

Sunday B and I had lunch with a friend and then headed over to our local scrapbook store to say "Hi" to Tim (Holtz). He was teaching a few classes there over the weekend. I have taken many classes with Tim over the years, but this time I passed. Bryant really likes the cool things he does, so we had to stop by for a quick visit. Tim is amazing and gracious and just plain ole wonderful! I really can not say enough.

Here is Bryant meeting Tim the first time, back in 2007. He was so nervous and excited! He looks so little back then...

I really did not get any real scrapping in this weekend, but I did mangage to get together and start prepping my stuff for my December Daily. I am really excited to be getting it ready early this year:

I know I did a lot this weekend and at the same time I have been fighting a cold that has been kicking my butt! Last year at this time I was in Martinsville, VA watching a Nascar race wth my good friend Kathy and not feeling well that weekend either. Yikes! Hopefully, I will be feeling better soon...

Happy Scrappin'!!!
