Just a quick post to share my week 4 LO from Janna's 52 weeks of stress free scrapbooking. The challenge this week is:
'This week I challenge you to try a color or color scheme that is out of the ordinary for you!'
I chose orange/black/white, which are typically Halloween colors and colors that I do not normally scrap with (well, I guess now that my man Tony Stewart is no longer sponsored by Home Depot!) Anyways...I do have a quite a bit of Halloween papers in my stash, that I have collected over the years and have never used. Everytime that I go to scrap Bryant's Halloween pics, they never seem to match up with any of the papers or colors.
So that being said, they go great with B's newest Winter wear perfectly! So, Ta-Da! Orange/black/white, my out of the ordinary color scheme. It is kinda fun working 'outside the box' sometimes.
TFL!

52 Weeks of Stress Free Scrapbooking...Week 2 & Week 3
Though it is only just beginning, I am really loving this challenge by Janna Wilson of doing a LO a week. I know some weeks it will be more, but if I can do at least one a week, that is good, good, good. Tomorrow she will be putting up the challenge for week four, so I wanted to share what I did for weeks two and three. Week twos' challenge was this:
'This week I challenge you just break out a favorite stamp you haven't used in forever and play!'
The stamp I picked is the 'Hello my name is' stamp by Maya Road. It was given to me by the sweet Kathy Marie Perez and I love it! I have only used it a couple of times and it is so cute! So here is my LO for week two. My 'sassy moment'. Love this pic of me all dressed up, pretty hairstyle and my newest favorite necklace (made by Janna and given to me by my friend Heather for Christmas):
Week threes' challenge was this:
'This week I challenge you to play with layering a few goodies to create a fabulous, interesting title.'
I adore this pic of Bryant & I, taken on Thanksgiving Day. He truly is my 'mini me' in so many ways. I thought the colors of my September Scarlet Lime kit were perfect for this one. Lots of goodies in these kits. Gotta love that! I layered my title like a prize ribbon, just something a bit different:
So these challenges have been giving me a little kick, to get the creative juices flowin'. I look forward to the next one. I have really gotten behind on my scrappin'. I thougt I was losin' my creative mojo, but it IS back...again.

A bit more scrappin' has been goin' on here
This time around for the BASB challenge, we are continuing with the baby theme. I thought that I would add a couple more pages to my friend Diana 's baby album. Now that we all know that she has had a girl, this gave me an opportunity to play around with the color pink (and I have to say it was a lot of fun!) This first page I created with Teresa Collins "Crush" line. It was actually her Valentine's line from last year, but it just seemed to fit perfect with that feeling of pure love that you feel, when a child, your child, is born. There is no other bond like it. I put in a temporary pic of the beautiful Ezri, but will let Diana choose the perfect shot:
On the first LO I used some soft pinks. In this one I used some brighter colors. A bit more fun for her to play it up. Pulled out some old 'Pink Paislee' and a few odds & ends from my stash:

This last LO is not a BASB challenge. It was put together, based on a sketch, for a design team I was trying out for. Alas, I did not make the DT, but I did get a great LO out of it AND I got to scrap Steve & B looking cool in their New Kevin Garnett Celtic jerseys that I got them for Christmas:
So, I have been playing around a little bit with paper & glue. Got a couple more pages in the works for Janna's year long weekly challenge. I will try to post them soon. I have been reading a lot too. Just finished a book called 'Firefly Lane' by Kristin Hannah. I Loved it! Now I am looking for a new book. Any suggestions?? Since I am in a lull between sporting events (no football, baseball or Nascar at the moment) I do have a bit of free time. LOL!

Welcoming Baby Albright...
The newest BASB challenge is called 'Welcoming Baby Albright'. This is just a fun one for us gals and anyone else who would love to play along. One of our own..the FABULOUS Diana , is expecting her first child next month. Briana came up with the very creative idea to create pages for Diana (sans photos) to put together as album for her. A bit of love from all involved. Here is mine. I created it with the fab new line from Studio Calico called 'Home Front':
It was based on this sketch, (that I having been holding onto for months!)

Also, did you notice this LO has a big circle incorporated into the design? So that means it is also perfect for this weeks scrapbook challenge happening over at the fabulous Janna Wilson's blog. Loving this idea too!
It is okay to combine challenges, right? Come play along, with one or both. Love these ideas & I am looking forward to seeing all the creative & unique pages for Diana and all the great ideas for Janna's challenge too.
Happy Scrappin'!!

Happy Patriot's Day
Okay, so maybe not the Patriot's Day you are thinking of, but every Sunday during football season it is at our house. Yes, we love us some Pats football. Today is the last game of the regular season and they have already clinched a spot in the playoffs as the AFC East champions. It is so exciting. One step closer to the Superbowl. Though they are already in the playoffs, we are still psyched to watch todays game.
I have a lot of favorite Patriot players past and present. One of my all time faves from the past, who no longer plays, is #52 Ted Johnson. Love this guy! I got to meet him, years ago, with a bunch of other players (Adam Vinatieri, Lawyer Malloy, Max Lane and even Drew Bledsoe!) Some friends and I headed down to Boston, way back in 1998 to an event (hosted by WAAF radio) at 'The Whiskey' bar, called 'Celebrity Bartendars Night'. It was awesome! All the DJ's from the station were there and all the Pats players above and some others were also there. It was fun having them serve the drinks!
Anyways, so I was reminiscing through some of the old pictures from the event and found a great one of myself and Ted and knew that I had to scrap it. So here is the result (along with the help of Teresa Collins fabulous 'Sports Edition' line-truly love this line!) Wow, I was cute back then...
As far as current players go, my fave is #83 Wes Welker. Someday I will meet him too. Never say never...

My Scrappy Top 10 for 2009
Every year I try to go back and look through the pages and projects that I have created through out the year and pick a few favorites. Some I really love some and others are just okay. Touche'. I would like to share my faves for 2009, in no particular order.
This first one I created for my friend Liz's Birthday. I soooo loved this paper by Piggy Tales, like you would not believe. This whole project was only created with scraps. That was all I had of it at the time. It was actually samples that I got when I was out in Chicago for CHA:
This past Summer I took an online class at Big Picture Scrapbooking taught by Christy Tomlinson. Love her and loved this class. It was all about color combinations. This was a LO I did of a very old pic of me and my sister:

You all know how much I love David Cook. You did not think I could get through 2009 without proclaiming my love or at least my crush on him. This LO was for a BASB challenge about crushes:
I really did make a point of getting myself on the page this year. This LO was based on a sketch from Lets Scrap. Love that site. Oh and did I mention I won for this LO. So fun! This is a pic of me at the end of the July Loudon, NH Nascar race. Yes, the race was called for rain, but I stayed out there...being the true blue fan that I am:
This LO was created for my friend Heather for her birthday. She loved it! It is framed and proudly hangs in her office as we speak:
A co-worker friend of mine asked if I would make some invitations for her sister's surprise 30th B-day party. Her only request was to use the colors brown & teal. She was quite pleased with the result and even paid me for them. My first paid gig and a few more soon followed. Loved it!
I love all things Teresa Collins. That is no big secret. I was so excited when her Sports Edition line came out. There is nothing more exciting to me than to be able to combine my favorite sports with my favorite hobby, scrapbooking. This past early Fall I had a chance to go to a Red Sox game. I love being at Fenway. I created this LO to capture that moment and shared it with Teresa. She in turn featured it on her blog. So cool!!
A couple months ago Steve and I had a chance to go see a comedy show hosted by Paul "Fitzy" Fitzgerald as portrayed by Nick Stevens. He is the 'New England sports nitwit'. We adore Fitzy in our house. He is so freakin' hysterical! I am so glad we went. We had the best time, laughed a lot and got to meet him IRL. Of course, I had to document it! I love how this LO turned out. Steve even had it as his computer wallpaper for the longest time:
These pics were taken at The Hall at Patriot Place. That would be my son and his cousin acting silly in the pro shop and I loved it. This LO was based on a sketch from Got Sketch 104, an online clas I took by Valerie Salmon & Janna Wilson:
