I Made This!

Since I did not recieve a calendar for Christmas this year and I haven't ventured out to the mall since, I decided to make my own.  I knew that I really wanted to use the very beautiful Blissful line by Authentique. Love the yellow/black/grey mix. I decided to go with the 6x6 papers. Little project, little papers. Everything else was from my stash. I used Autumn Press and Stampin' Up stamps, StazOn Jet black ink, yellow bakers twine, Jenni Bowlin butterfly stickers, buttons & bling,  heavy silver-grey cord, silver glitter clips, Adirondack silver paint dabber, black & silver thread for stitching, yellow glitter paper from AC, calendar pages from Janna (Wilson) for Junkitz. a couple of paper punches and some corrugated:
It took a while to come up with an idea and...here it is. I made this:
Here is a close up of the top. Look at all this Authentique goodness!
Here is close up of the bottom. Lots of stamping goodness!
Now I have a calendar. A pretty new one, that actually starts in February. That's okay though, better late than never.

Oh!
On February 1st, the biggest card making blog hop starts. I had so much fun with my card sketch, I can't wait to share it with YOU!
Til then here is the awesome RAK prize I am giving away to my winner:
Some very cool papers from Simple Stories called Year-o-graphy, some assorted bakers twine, some bling, some pretty glitter cardstock and black foam thicker letters. I am sure I will add  more to it too. I love to give away scrappy prizes!

Body Restoration-Week 2

This weeks lesson started by having us think of the negative way we see ourselves and the way other people see us (or at least the way we think people see us).  It was also about all the possitive that we can  see, do, be. Though we all have things that we do not like about ourselves, there are so many more things that are good, even great, about us. At least that is what I have discovered. The art involved a possitive outlook:

But, it started by delving into the negativity. I have to admit that I did not like dwelling on the negative, because I know that I can improve on all the things that were on my list:
I don't remember where I found this sign, but I like to look at it evey once in a while to keep myself possitive:
2012 is my year of health and well being.
I am not getting any younger, but
I am enjoying the journey!

Body Restoration-Week 1

Well...I made it through my first week of the Brave Girls Club Body Restoration class. While I can not share all the details of the first lesson, I will share my first art project.:
It took me a while to figure out how I wanted to set up my page. I like the simple design I ended up with. I did not want it to be exactly like Melody's. I wanted it to be own design. My book, my look. Ha! I made a rhyme! The homework assignment was tough. Not in the sense that I couldn't do it, but tough in the way that it made me have to be honest with myself. To write it down. There it was in black & white. It is definately eye opening and scary, but I can do this. I want to do this. This is my year to be healthy!

Scrappy Anticpation

These are some of the CHA Winter 2012 new lines that have caught my eye.
Be forewarned, I am a sucker for the color blue.
The first one is:

Genuine from Authentique:
Next is:

Vintedge
from
Ruby Rock-It:
and last, but not least:

Everyday Moments
from
Teresa Collins:
I can not wait
to get my scrap on
with all the products above...

but in the meantime,
I am getting ready to take this fun class
by Amy Tan(gerine):
I plan on using this kit from Studio Calico,
that I fell in love with,
and have been hoarding since May?
So pretty.
(Class starts on February 1st)
So many projects in the works.
Can't get enough!
Oh my obsessive creative mind!

one little word

My one little word for 2012 is...
healthy.
The definition of healthy is:
The condition of being sound in mind, body or spirit.
Yes!
This is my goal.

and, as always,
Go Pats!
