Oh Scrappy Day...

I did a bit of scrapping this past weekend. I was so happy to get a couple of layouts completed. This first one is for Wendy’s (Let’s Scrap) blog hop challenge, resolution #11. First of all, I love a color schemed challenge. Her challenge was to use silver, blue and white along with a Let's Scrap sketch, to create a card or layout. The majority of the people have gone for Winter themed layouts (the colors are perfect for that!), but not me, I did something a bit different. This is a layout documenting one of the times that I met Adam Vinatieri years ago. He is the former kicker for the New England Patriot's. He was one of my favorite players. He now plays for another team. These pics were taken the third or fourth time we met him. It was back in January of 2000 (a year before we won the first Super Bowl) and I was 7 months pregnant at the time. I was so happy (and look so young...sigh). he was very sweet, as always (and look how cute he is!)

The layout above was based on this sketch. Remember when I used it Here? Very versatile!

This was the other layout I did, documentinting Bryant's first day of school this year. I used the Elementary line by Studio Calico. I have had these papers for a while, just waiting to use them. It is a very simple layout ( and not one of my faves, I must say), but I really wanted to document that day. The first day of school is always a bit nerve racking and yet, exciting too.

The Layout above was based on the left side of the Julie Bonner sketch over at Let's Scrap.

A couple of weeks back SupahFans.com on facebook had a photo contest. It was to show them your Pats spirit. How do you enjoy the game, photo contest. We entered this photo...and we WON! Woo Hoo!

For winning we got a four pack of the New England SupahFan shirts. We love coach Kevin! I told him that I was sending two of the shirts to my sister and nephew (that are diehard Pats and Sox fans) that live in the heart of Steeler Country, and he threw in a Sunday Funday shirt for my sister ( to help ease the pain!) Steelers Schmeelers! Go Packers...

Who doesn't love happy mail? Due to incliment weather here, I did not get to send out my prize pack to the winner of my card challenge till a few days ago.

I really felt bad about that, so I threw in a bunch of embellies to go with the awesome Basic Grey paper pack! I can not wait to see what she creates with it all!

Just a reminder that the Blog Hop is still going on at Let's Scrap. You have until February 14th to enter. A beautiful prize from Scarlet Lime is up for grabs for my Card stock only challenge. I may even throw in a few extra goodies too, 'cause that's how I roll! Lol!

Stay warm!

Happy Scrappin'!!!

Let's Scrap Wednesday

It's Wednesday...so that means time for a new sketch reveal at Let’s Scrap. I chose to do a one page layout this time around. I really loved this pic of B, taken on Easter Day last year. It looked like Santa had visited our house, instead of the Easter Bunny. Thus, the title "Merry Eastmas". So here is my layout:

This time I based it on the left side of the sketch:

Great prize from http://www.sweetpeachcropshop.com/ up for grabs:

Don't forget about my Bloghop challenge. There is still lots of time left.

Resolution #2

I have been trying to get a few of the challenges done over at Let's Scrap for the blog hop. There are so many to choose from, but Kristen's is the first one that really caught my eye. Her challenge is to do a layout using at least 3 of these colors and a Let's Scrap sketch. I love color challenges and these colors are awesome!

I love how a color challenge gives you a base, but that there are so many different hues/ranges of those colors to choose from. I (finally) scrapped Bryant's 1st grade school pic. Some how it got missed in my scrapping of school pics, but now I am caught up. So here is my take on Resolution #2:

Based on this sketch (ls107)

Going out with some friends tonight, but hope to get in some more scrappin tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!
Happy Scrappin'!!!

Oh Happy Day

Scrapping makes me happy. Yes it does. As much as it is an obsession, it also is the best creative outlet I know. Many things inspire me and ideas can pop into my head any time of the day. Like this layout. I took this picture on Christmas Eve while we were visiting one of the oldest Christmas displays in Boston, called 'The Enchanted Village'. It is a gorgeous old display. We especially loved the vintage santa. This was a great display and a great photo op. I really wanted create a special LO. Then I saw a great challenge over at the Jenni Bowlin site: include a grid on your LO. Simple right? I thought about it for a while, sketched it out, pulled out some of my favorite Jenni Bowlin goodies and ta da...I came up with this:

Anyone that knows me, I mean truly knows me, knows that I am quite the sports nut AND I love all things Teresa Collins. Teresa created a sport line last year, called Sports Edition (that I loved!) and now here is Sports Edition II. I was so excited when Terresa told us about this at IU last Fall. It is better than I hoped and I can't wait to get my hands on it! Wow! I love this one even more. It will go great with pics from Pats and Red Sox games!

I am always looking for new cool, hip, boy lines. This one totally ROCKS! Can't wait to create with on the Edge:

How cute is this card? I loved it! This is the winning card from My Challenge over at Let's Scrap last week:

On a final note. The Pats lost. We are bummed. Nuff said. We are still supah fans. So supah, that we entered this photo in a 'show your Pats spirit' during the game at SupahFan.com (contest) on FB and WE WON!! Woo Hoo! So Cool! A bit blurry, but you get the point!

Thanks for stopping by!

Don't forget my challenge below. A great prize from Scarlet Lime is up for grabs!

Happy Scrappin'!

Let's Scrap Hoppy New Year Blog Hop:Resolution #13

Hoppy New Year! Today is the beginning of the month long blog hop at Let’s Scrap. . There are fifteen resolutions (challenges) to play along with. Yes, resolutions. We thought it would be cool naming our challenges resolutions. If you click on the blog hop icon on the sidebar of my blog, it will link you to a list of all the rules of the blog hop. Please take time to read through these, before you begin. I have also listed links to all fifteen of the challenges right below it. I will leave these links up the entire time, so that you have quick access to all the resolutions/challenges at any given time.

I am hosting Resolution #13. My challenge to you is a 'cardstock only' layout. The rules are:

First and foremost

-You need to become a member of Let’s Scrap.

-You must use a Let's Scrap sketch (there are many to choose from)

-The layout must consist of cardstock only (no pattern paper allowed!)

-You may use a few small embellies (ie, buttons, chipboard elements, flowers)

-You must post your layout in the Let's Scrap gallery and tag it with Resolution#13 and the sketch # that you used

The cool thing about cardstock, is there are a world of options. So many colors and types. You can sand, tear, distress, emboss, etc. The possibilties are endless! I used 5 colors of Core'dinates cardstock, glitter cardsock from American Crafts and a bit of kraft. Core'dinates cardstock is so much fun, because it is embossed and there are so many styles and colors to choose from. I sanded mine, to give it a bit of a distressed look. The glitter cardstock gives it some sparkle and the kraft adds a bit of simplicity. I used some of my Martha Stewart punches and very few embellies. Thickers for my titlle, some dymo tape for my journaling and I even sewed a bit. Here is my layout:

This is the sketch it was based on (ls119):

I flipped the sketch sideways for my layout:

So what are you playing for? The amazing January Frugal Fab kit from Scarlet Lime! It has been generously donated by the fabulous Christy Tomlinson. Thank You Christy! Love her! Love Scarlet Lime! Check out ALL this goodness:

Just click on the Scarlet Lime icon at the top of my blog and check it out. Thesre is so much creativity to be found there! You have from today, January 14th through February 14th, to participate in as many challenges as you like.
So many great challenges, so many great prizes.
What are you waiting for?
Come play!
Happy Scrappin'!

Snowed in...so Let's Scrap!

The weather outside is frightful...

Yes, Winter has finally arrived. Big snow storm. No school. No work. Stuck in the house. No cabin fever...yet. What to do? What to do? Scrap of course! Yay me! Scrappin' today for fun and staying warm. Ha!

Also, since today is Wednesday, a new sketch is unveiled at Let’s Scrap. This time I decided to do only a one page LO. I had a great pic of me and B, taken on Thanksgiving day and I had some really pretty papers from one of my past Scarlet Lime kits. The result is this:

Based on this part of the sketch:

You can check out the 2 page version here. There are some cute paper & brads from Stampin' Up being offered as a prize.

A New Scrap Challenge

This week I am hosting the Design Team Challenge (Challenge 84!) over at Let’s Scrap. Since we are just putting Christmas behind us and diving right into the new year, I thought I would make it fun & simple. Who doesn't love that? So, the challenge is to create a card based on one of the many fabulous Let's Scrap LO sketches. You can include pics or not. There are many great card sketches over there too, but this challenge is all about the amazing LO sketches. So basically, you are creating a mini LO on a card. Simple right?

Here is my card:

Based on this LO sketch (LS109):

Play along and you could win this:

The awesome 'Green at Heart' line from Basic Grey. Sweet! You have until January 14th. I will pick a winner on the 15th. Good luck!

My Top 12...

Yes, I said twelve. Every year I go through my LO's from the past year and I pick my favorite ten LO's. The only problem this year is, I could not get it down to ten. So, without further ado, here are my 'Top 12' (in no particular order):

1.) This LO was done for one of Janna (Wilson's) 52 Weeks of Stress Free Scrapbooking. The challenge this time around was to scrap with colors outside your comfort zone. Here I used orange and black and I loved the result!

2.) I love these papers from Piggy Tales and they were perfect for this LO. I had a lot of fun playing along with the Studio Calico girls, a few months back, for Kelly Purkey's Sketchbook 2 class :

3.) This was another one of Janna's '52 Weeks of Stress Free Scrapbooking'. The challenge for this one, was to layer and create an intersting title. Love this pic of me & B:

4.) We love Fitzy in our house. I can't even tell you how much I love this photo of Fitzy with Bryant, the first time they met. I had to scrap it! Love, love, love how this LO came out:

5.) This LO is from one of the many awesome sketches over at Let's Scrap. Really had a lot of fun withis one. I had wanted to use these KI apple lace papers forever and this was the perfect oppurtunity:

6.) This was another fave from the Kelly Purkey Sketchbook 2 class. 2010 was the year for me to get in front of the camera and document ME too:

7.) This was based on a Page Maps sketch. Some of my favorite papers (scraps) from Scrapworks surrounding Mom's favorite:

8.) This one was for another of Janna Wilson's 52 weeks of Stress Free Scapbooking challenges. This time around the challenge was to use a stamp on your LO. I used my fun 'Hello My Name is' stamp. The papers are from Teresa Collins and playing card and bling are from Heidi Swapp. Love these ladies!

9.) I had the best time playing around with Teresa Collins 'Bebe Boy' line. 'Pocket full of Sunshine' was so fun to create:

10.) I literally threw this LO together with a mix of different paper lines from Pink Paislee. This pic of B & Rudolph was just so darn cute:

11.) Of the many BASB challenges I hosted this past year, this one was my favorite. It was a cardstock only challenge:

12.) Last, but not least...this is one of the LO's I submtted fot the TCD design team try-out. I really love all things Teresa. I always have. Even though I was not picked, I think it is a darn good LO (if I do say so myself!) Lol!:

Lots of fun LO's from this past year.

More scrappy fun to come.

Happy New Year!

Happy Scrappin'!
